Each client knows that they want the most competent, caring practitioner to help them. That is where continuing education and community participation comes in. Each practitioner should be attending conferences, workshops and seminars to keep up their skills and sharing those skills with those less fortunate.
Deb completed her requirements to become a Certified CranioSacral Therapist September 10th! Her journey began in the summer of 2000 with the CST I class from Upledger, followed by CST II class four years later. In 2008, she began classes with Dr. Maureen Schwehr, NMD and CST instructor in Tucson. She completed the CST II and CST III classes with Dr. Schwehr as well as the Visceral Manipulation course. Completing 50 documented sessions and passing a written and oral exam, Deb is proud to say she is officially a CranioSacral Therapist with over 200 hours of training!
Look for Deb at the Care for the Caregivers event at TMC on September 11th from 7 am until 11 am. She will be offering desk top massage and foot reflexology sessions for the staff at TMC.

July 11th, Deb will be participating in the first health fair for residents and their friends at Splendido Rancho Vistoso. She will be offering reflexology and desk top massage as well as information about the benefits of regular bodywork.
In June, Deb completed the CranioSacral III class held by Dr. Maureen Schwer. This class focuses upon the somatio-emotional aspects of craniosacral therapy. Also, Deb completed the 50 documented sessions required for certification by Dr. Schwer. Now, to complete certification, Deb has to complete the final exam and practical!
In February and March, Deb served as Teaching Assistant fore Dr. Maureen Schwer's CranioSacral Therapy I class. And she will serve as Teaching Assistant for the CranioSacral Class at the AMTA-AZ continuing education class in April.
Deb Kortyna studied reflexology with Dr. Jesus Manzaneres from Catalonia, Spain in November in LA.. He is a medical doctor who has been practicing medicine and reflexology for 27 years. He has over 70,000 case studies documenting the efficacy of reflexology.
In October, Deb studied visceral manipulation and CranioSacral Therapy(CST) with Dr. Maureen Schwer in Tucson. The CST class was a review and the visceral manipulation was the first time Deb studied that. So, she can add work directly on the organs to faciliate optimum functioning of the digestive system.
In May, 2008, Deb participated in the Reflexology Association of America's conference in Portland, Maine as a state delegate representing the Arizona Reflexology Association.
